Port Williams Secondary Planning Strategy

The Port Williams Secondary Planning Strategy is a Municipal planning document intended to guide the growth and development of Port Williams. It establishes long-term goals and implements planning tools, such as zoning, aimed at achieving these goals. While the Municipal Planning Strategy is county wide, the Port Williams Secondary Planning Strategy is tailored to the community’s distinct qualities and planning needs.

The Municipality formed the Port Williams Secondary Planning Strategy (SPS) Committee to develop the Secondary Planning Strategy. The Committee consisted of the Municipal Councillor for the area, three Village Commissioners and four citizen members. Planning staff supported the Committee’s efforts as it reviewed a variety of issues, engaged the community and, made difficult land use planning choices.

On February 4th, 2010, the SPS Committee completed their work and forwarded its recommendations onto the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC). (report posted below)
