Water conservation is an important aspect of water utility management as well as
for private well owners. The Municipality is establishing a program in an effort
to inform people of the impact of better water efficiency and water conservation.
The goals of water conservation are:
1. Sustainability – the rate of
use of a water source should not exceed its ability
to replenish itself. This will
ensure availability for future generations.
2. Energy conservation - Water pumping,
delivery, and wastewater treatment
facilities consume a significant
amount of energy.
3. Habitat conservation – Reduced
human consumption ensures availability for
local wild life.
