Police protection within the Municipality of the County of Kings is the responsibility
of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Kings Detachment. This detachment, which is
under the direction of Inspector Dave Brown, has a combined complement of sixty
officers and administrative staff.
The Municipality of the County of Kings provides funding for thirty-six officers
who are located at New Minas and Kingston. The RCMP is involved in the Municipality
of Kings through their community policing programs.
Community policing is a joint effort between community consultative groups and RCMP
staff. It has resulted in strengthening and broadening the services of the RCMP
in a way that reflects community needs and priorities.
